Visiting Fort Wayne for Teacher Training? Here’s Where to Stay & Eat

As Pure Movement grows into a Balanced Body Teacher Training site, we’re thrilled to welcome visiting trainees from outside the Fort Wayne area. If you’re joining us for one weekend module or diving into the full comprehensive track, we want you to feel at home here.

Fort Wayne has quietly become one of the Midwest’s most charming small cities, with a walkable downtown, vibrant arts, incredible local food, and more green space than you might expect. For a broader look at what the city offers, you can explore more at Visit Fort Wayne.

But first? Pure Movement staff has curated a list for you to try while visiting! (We clearly take our food seriously.)

Coffee

(Because Teacher Training requires it and Fort Wayne has great roasters)

Conjure Coffee – Excellent coffee. Full stop. Plus, multiple locations depending on where you’re driving!
Crescendo Coffee & More – Great coffee and genuinely good food. Easy place to meet classmates.
Firefly Coffee House – Best chai latte in town (in our opinion).
Fortezza – Right downtown, and they’re open on Sundays.

Breakfast & Brunch

Dash-In – A classic breakfast staple. Cozy, consistent, satisfying.
Ophelia’s – Beautiful brunch atmosphere. Feels a little elevated.
Proximo – Consistently good. Great flavors, great service.
Crescendo Coffee & More – Yes, again. It really is that reliable.
Davey’s Delicious Bagels – Casual and dependable when you need something easy before training.

Light Bites & Study Spots

Kanela (Downtown) – Smoothies, juices, coffee, and small bites. A great place to post up and review your teacher training manual, located right downtown in Fort Wayne.
Spoke & Ivy – Honestly, almost anything… but the Tom Yum latte is amazing.

Lunch & Dinner

Mercado – Bold, vibrant flavors.
Nawa – Seconded enthusiastically. Always a favorite.
Double Dragon Restaurant – Perfect takeout when you’re tired after a full day of teacher training, and a true hole-in-the-wall Chinese food in Fort Wayne.
Penny Drip – Try the pickle flatbread if you love pickles.
BB’s Indian Kitchen – The Chicken Tikka Masala and naan are top tier.

Inn 1854 (formerly LaSalle Downtown Inn) is within easy walking distance of the studio and incredibly convenient. It’s charming, comfortable after tiring teacher trainings, and close to everything in downtown Fort Wayne.

If you’re feeling a little boujee, The Bradley is adorable but definitely more $$$.
