About Jorey
What do you feel is the most unique quality of Pilates as a mindful movement?
I believe the true power of Pilates lies in its ability to create a deep connection between mind, breath, and body. We unlock our full potential by focusing on Joseph Pilates' principles and slowing down to truly engage with each movement. This practice clarifies the mind and enhances overall body function, leading to greater strength, flexibility, and vitality.
Currently, what is your favorite Pilates exercise on any apparatus?
My favorite Pilates exercise is the Roll Over. As someone who holds tension in my lower back and hamstrings, this exercise is a game changer. It stretches the entire posterior chain, helping to release tightness and improve flexibility, which makes it an essential part of my personal practice.
What excites you most about teaching Pilates?
I’m truly passionate about Pilates because it’s a form of movement that can benefit every body type. It’s rare to find a practice that’s so accessible while simultaneously focusing on both strength and recovery. Utilizing all the equipment in Pilates has allowed me to help my clients transform not only their bodies but also their lives.
